Wine Barrel Shadowbox Coffee Table - COBERTO - Made from large Retired French Oak Wine Barrels. 100% Recycled!

I just purchased 2 magnificent large oak wine tanks from France and just HAD to make fun projects out of them! These are made from oak trees in the forest lands planted by Louis XIV, who wanted high-quality hardwood to build ships for the French navy. To this day, the best oak comes from this area. After decades of producing quality wine, they were retired and sent to my shop to take on a new life as art and furniture.

The COBERTO coffee table is made entirely form the giant tank wood that has been carefully taken apart and fashioned into a fully functional coffee table and then we inlaid a glass top into the wood for additional architectural detail. The sturdy steel frame is welded in house out of recycled steel made from retired 1950-60's train wheels in Arizona and can be powder coated for a few dollars more. We just love the raw steel against the red wine wood!

The entire top lifts up on concealed hinges easily to add your treasured heirlooms inside for protection.

Beautiful and elegant, it highlights the dark red wine color and natural oak grain and color gives it even more character.

Each one is custom made to order so if you need a specific size, just send an email. We love a fun project!

For the interior bottom shelf, want lighter reds? I'll use Pinot Noir, Barberra, etc. Want darker reds or almost black? I'll use Cabernet, Merlot etc. Want it natural oak? I'll use Chardonnay, Viognier etc.
