Our handrails have become by far one of our most popular items yet, and being a safety-related item AND a work of art, we have some very high standards when it comes to what ships out. 

Every rail is a labor of love, with our artists focusing 1-6 hours into shaping and sanding them to perfection. Some rails pass all of their structural testing, but just don't make the cut aesthetically (to our personal standards) , so we're putting them up for sale at the base cost! 

The one pictured is the one you will receive. Take a close look at the photos prior to purchasing.

INCLUDES: 1 x Blanc Handrail pictured , x3 handrail brackets, installation instructions, plus extra goodies from the shop, my treat!

*We send at least 1 mounting bracket for every 16"-18" of handrail length. All brackets sent must be used to ensure maximum strength and longevity. Using less than the mandated amount will void the warranty. 

If you want MORE brackets, let us know and we'll be happy to send you as many as you like for the base cost!

After years of making amazing wine (which I'm SURE you have enjoyed) these barrels are retired and taken to my shop to take on new life as art and furniture. These retired barrels have brought joy to millions of drinkers, and although their wine making days are behind them, their distinctive character lasts on. 

We have a thorough selection process on the stave size, grain density, moisture content, and char level when it comes to what we use for these rails. The few staves that pass the first round of tests get cut, assembled, hand sculpted at the joints for a fluid look, and then strength tested. 

After the rail passes, it's sanded silky smooth, sealed with all natural food-grade tung oil to make sure it lasts a life-time of use, and is carefully packaged up. 

The notch you see is where the barrel head sat and its location is purely based on the number of staves used. Some lengths both are up, some both down, and some are one up one down. It makes no difference structurally which way they face as its purely decorative, and I love keeping the fine details of the original barrel intact to preserve its history and character.
